First of all, I do plan to update this site more. I just seem to have run out of things to talk about. I always finish a project and dream of the insanely exciting blog post that I could write about it… then lose all interest as I sit in front of the computer during my precious little “mommy time” after The Nooblet goes to sleep. That aside, I feel as if I have accomplished a fair bit in the past month. While I have been productive, I am extremely backlogged on pictures to share. So, instead of bombarding you with all of them now… don’t be surprised if whatever I post in the next couple weeks aren’t actually from a month ago. Anyway, here ya go:
I managed to finally crochet a doily. I have no idea why I felt I needed one. I think I just had to prove to myself that I could, in fact, actually follow a crochet pattern without going all googly-eyed.
The Nooblet’s birthday is coming up (the 9th) and I am determined to make an awesome cake. I have forever been intimidated by fondant, but wasn’t fond (HAH!) enough of the taste to actually go through the hell that is the process of making it. However, with some help from The Internet, I found an easy, cheap, and *gasp!* tasty way of making fondant with only mini marshmallows, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a microwave! Hallejulah! The basic recipe can be found here!
And since we’re talking birthdays… here’s a picture from The Nooblet’s birthday at her Ammie’s!
I’m also sharing this picture, since tiny food is adorable.
Okay, I’ll stop… for now! *ominous music*

I made this a while ago and finally managed to get a picture of it today.

Based on this pattern. This bag alone will keep about 75 plastic bags out of landfills.

… that she has gotten some use out of the things that I’ve knitted/crocheted for her!

I can’t wait to have better lighting.
Those eyes could kill.

It’s November already… and you know what that means! NaBloPoMo! While I may not be adventurous enough to make an attempt at NaNoWriMo, blogging may be more up my alley.
The entries will likely be short, but I’m still going to give it at chance! That aside, in honor of Halloween, I finally shook my crafting slump to make two small projects for the Nooblet:
A Candy Corn dress for our Corn Nooblet.
Too cute! Pattern here.

Attempting to do some stash-busting, I made a few more things for the Nooblet.

This was supposed to have bunny ears, but the design on the top is too pretty to cover up.

I’m still not sure why I made this hat. It’s so girly it hurts. There’s also a little flower that goes with it, but I forgot to put it on.
I also finished a pair of mary janes, but I’ll post those tomorrow. Time to go attempt to sleep. Wish me luck.

I admit, lately there hasn’t been much action on the crafting front due to various Nooblet-related events. Doctor’s appointments, baby get-togethers, birthing classes… it seems that we have somewhere to hurry to almost every day. Even so, I managed to find a few minutes to complete a rattle to go with the Nooblet’s carrot sweater.

Pattern from Bittersweet! There’s a cat-toy inside so that it jingles.
Hopefully I’ll have a few more crafty updates before the end of the month. I really should start getting cracking on diaper covers!

I’m not one to ever repeat a project. I find it difficult enough to stay interested in it the first time around. That said, it surprises me that all my current in-progress projects are second-timers. After the slight issues with my first Star Afghan, I decided to give it a second try. The only difference is I’m using a slightly looser gauge. So far it seems to be going much more smoothly.
Additionally, I’ve given the sweater pattern from last time a second try as well. I even managed to count correctly this time! Amazing!

I really dislike the lighting in our apartment. Nothing ever looks right.
And here’s a picture of the younger kitty-boy, Sergio, just because he’s cute:
